Workshops, Lectures and Demonstrations
There is always something new to learn in gardening. IGC periodically holds gardening workshops for members and the community at large. Ideas for workshops evolve from member input. Past workshops have focused on spring pruning, fruit grafting techniques and building a worm box. Upcoming workshops will be listed here.
Tours
Be it a visit to a public garden, a museum special exhibit, or a private garden habitat for honey bees – IGC plans a wide range of tours for members and friends. These day trips within the San Francisco Bay area offer a chance to leave the garden for a day and be inspired by the creativity of artists in the plant world and beyond. Upcoming workshops will be listed here.
Inverness Fair
The Inverness Fair, held on the 2nd Saturday in August, is a longstanding summer tradition for people of all ages. Set on the Inverness village green, it is a daylong celebration with a pancake breakfast, live music, a library book sale, games and crafts. A much anticipated event at the fair is the Flea Market, an IGC fundraiser for West Marin School gardens, where eager shoppers line up to peruse the always eclectic offerings. The IGC also organizes the Plant Sale, and sustenance, the club sponsors a bake sale with homemade preserves and desserts. Staffed by members, these events provide funds for ongoing club operation and the West Marin Scholarship Program.
