Inverness Projects

Work day in Inverness is Wednesday morning on all three projects below. Each project has a leader and several volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome.

Gables Garden – From the first step of converting the Gables into the Inverness Public Library in 1985, the Garden Club has been there to take care of the garden. A group of us from Community Projects still carefully tends this historic and beautiful garden.

Plant Park – We now have responsibility for tending Plant Park (behind the Post Office) and maintaining it as a lovely place for locals and visitors to enjoy. The emphasis here is on plants, including native plants that tolerate deer, require little watering and can stand both heat and cold.

Median Strip – Members of CPC, with the advice of the Club horticulturist, developed the plan for the median strip plantings and now maintain it.
